Fatih Özkaynak completed his bachelor's and master's degrees in the Department of Computer Engineering at Fırat University and received his doctorate from Yıldız Technical University in 2013.
He specializes in critical topics such as chaos-based encryption systems, information security, random number generators, and data compression algorithms. His work, in particular, on the development of symmetric encryption techniques with chaotic systems has received widespread attention in international literature.
He serves as a professor in the Department of Software Engineering at Fırat University. He previously worked as a researcher and faculty member at Tunceli University and Bozok University. As the founder of Kriptarium, he has also contributed to industrial applications.
He has conducted significant work on chaos-based encryption algorithms, medical image security, and artificial intelligence-assisted data compression within the scope of TÜBİTAK projects 1001, 1002, 1005, 2515, 1501, 1505, 1507 and 2209. He has participated in more than 25 European Union COST actions and has participated in international collaborations. The chaotic S-box methods he developed have set new standards in secure data transmission. He has mentored seven master's and three doctoral students, bringing qualified researchers to the field. According to Google Scholar, his work has received over 2,500 citations and has an h-index of 27, making it a reference in the field of cryptology. His contributions to science have been recognized globally by being included on Stanford University's "World's Most Influential Scientists" list for the 2020-2025 period. Professor Özkaynak, a family man, is the father of three children and, in addition to his academic work, contributes to scientific awareness activities for the public.
